I was wondering if anyone knew a way to update the divx codec on an outdated insignia dvd player? Are there any self extracting cds I could play in it to do the trick?

. . .to a p1rate, everything is open source. . .

I dont think it can be done. What you bought is what you get. Only solution I can think of is to buy a new DVD player.
