I used to use USB_MOD_v4b for DAX 3.10 oe-a'

Then I later learned that i could load psp games with DAX 3.40 OE-A with this guide:

I've been out of the psp scene for a while and now coming back i've noticed that DAX has retired (?) not sure on that.

Are there any other methods to running games via USB with newer firmwares? can someone please point me in the right direction?

Try IR Shell which you can get HERE.

Lets you stream via USB and WiFi

Don't forget to download USBhostFS v1.7 incl. RemoteJoy and NetHostFS v1.7 which is all linked to the link above.
