I've been playing Resident Evil 3: Nemesis for quite some time now. However, after watching the destruction of the Hospital, and then entering the door that leads back to the Clock Tower, the game freezes. I get a black screen, with the background music still playing, and after a few moments, the PSP just turns off by itself.
I thought it might've been a bad ISO, but I figured that it's not; I tried a different ISO, downloaded from a different site but the same thing happens.
And now I think the reason for this is because of my outdated firmware. Since I've been living under a rock for the past couple of months, I regret to say that I still use 3.40 OE-A. Does M33 have a better PSX compatibility, or is it the same? If I upgrade to an M33 firmware, is there a chance that the game might run normal again? I really need your help on this, people.
yes m33 does have better psx compatibility, although strider 2 freezes at the late part of stage 2, but good thing you cant switch to stage 3 and 4. http://www.sendspace.com/file/7ziefh <<theres a link to it.
mean either, i never tried 3.71m33 even when the 1.50 patch came out. I might test it out though because of the new themes. Although 3.52 m33-4 is very stable for me. I'll only upgrade if theres a really nice game that requires that high of a firmware. Ill teach you how to set up your recovery mode if you pm me having trouble.
I upgraded to 3.71 M33-2, but alas, RE3: Nemesis wouldn't even start at all. Once I choose either New Game or Load Game, it just gives me a black screen -- then the PSP, once again, turns off by itself.
Also, that's not the only problem. Two of my CSOs wouldn't show up: Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, and Medal of Honor: Heroes.
I guess this firmware needs more updates for it to become stable. For now, I'll go back to 3.52 M33-2. And I hope RE3 works; been dying to play that game again. =P
This gives you the ability to choose from 3.00 version to 3.52 versions.
Download the file and extract it. Now place the seplugins folder in the ROOT of the MS.
Go to Recovery menu and then plugins and enable the popsloader.
Now when you boot your PSX game the popsloader menu will come up letting you choose a version to load the game with.
If the PSX Game works fine then leave it be every time you play that PSX game the pops version you selected previously will boot the PSX game.
If you happen to choose a version that doesn't boot your PSX game or you have issues (freezing) with a particular version you have chosen, you can hold the R trigger button down while booting the PSX game and the menu will come up again letting you choose a different version.
