Help me burn my backwards compatibility disc!

I had my XBOX 360 repaired and I had to wipe my hard drive. I now have a new computer also that has Windows Vista. I need to install the backwards compatability disc to my 360 but I can't burn it. I went to the XBOX360 site and downloaded the July 07 update to my computer. I then unzipped the file to get to the Default XEX file that is 12.6 MB and put that in a folder by itself. I then attempted to burn the XEX file which it appears like it did. I took my blank Memorex DVD-R out of the burner and examined it. I saw a clean burn on the new disc and put it in my XBOX360. My 360 indicated that it was not able to read the disc. Please help me! What am I doing wrong? I've wasted 6 disc trying to do this. The last time I did it I had Windows XP. I was able to follow the directions picture for picture but now with Vista I'm lost.
