Just yesterday I realised that my 360 is scratching my games when I looked at my Halo 3 disk to find it had lots and lots of little scratches running round the disk and one quite big one running all the way round, I can't have done this by not looking after my games as the game has been either in the 360 or in the case and I've not moved the console while its playing the games and I dont have the limited addition plus I've not even touched the bottom of the disks.
Then I looked at my Harry Potter OOTP, Hitman Blood Money and Gears of War to find the same sort of scratches.I then looked even closer at my disks and at the sides of the disks it looked like my 360 had chewed away some of the disk (not much but it was noticeable). I have yet to check my other games as I dont have them with me at the moment. The games do however work but I'm not taking the chance on leaving it and making my disks un-readable.
So I rang customer support and they said my 360 is still under guarantee so I can send it to them free of charge and they will take a look at what is causing the problem and fix it but if it can't be fixed they'll replace my console. So the woman told me all the details that I would need to send my 360 to them and also a link on how to get my games replaced but this link was not relavent to my games and did not help whatsoever.
I forgot to ask about what packaging I would need to send my 360 to them.Does anybody know whether they will send me the packaging or I have to sort it out myself? Would it be best to ring back and ask? Also does anybody know how to get the games that are scratched replaced for free? As on the link the woman gave me it was only selected games that could be replaced that aren't in my collection of scratched games anyway and it would cost me £10.00 to replace each one.
Thanks,

I had the same exact problem with my 360, it grooved rings in my disc that made them unplayable to a point. They also had very rough sides, not sure if they came that way, or if the 360 had did it. I also kept getting the error ".....please insert an xbox 360 disk..... My COD3 and Saints Row were getting scratched, luckily the games were new enough that I could take them back to game stop for replacement. I sent the 360 back and MS sent me a new one a week later. They will send you all the needed packaging. I would call MS back about the games that are not on the list for replacement.

Yea the scratches can be seen very easily under a bright light but hardly at all in just natural light. The edges of the disks are quite concerning though as they are very rough on games that I have played on for 10 or more hours like my halo 3.I'll ring Microsft again tomorrow and ask about free replacements. How long does the packaging take to come?

Just a few days, maybe like 3 days. I got the replacement xbox back ina little more than a week... from my experience, I was impressed with the process because I knew a lot of them were being sent back at the time, it was around September 2006.

I got an email with the link to the thing I needed to stick on my package yesterday and the link did'nt work.I couldn't be bothered to ring microsoft again complaing and also I've lost my ref. number. So I took the 360 back to the store today and they replaced it with a 2005 model! But at least it works. My guarantee started again though so I've got 1 more year.My plan is to return the 360 again just before the guarantee runs out and I'll have another year!

Question! When you send your Xbox 360 in for Repairs, do they send a Replacement first, and then you send yours, or do you send yours in, and wait for the Replacement?! Thanks!

You send it in and then wait for it to be fixed or replaced.

Okay, because my system says that my Disc's are Unreadable, and that they may be dirty or damaged, but there are no scratches on them at all! I think my system is screwed up!

Shouldn't you have a three year warranty now since MS recently extended it because of all the hardware issues, right?

When I called M$ about my 360 and about the 3 year warranty, they said that that is for only the RRoD! So if you are not getting the RRoD, then the 3 year warranty doesn't apply to it!
I really think that is gay though...

What??? That is extremely gay. MS is shooting themselves in the foot. Are they trying to push undecided people to the PS3.....or what?
So basically what they are telling people with defective non-RRoD 360's to do is sabotage it and induce the RRoD error so the three year warranty can apply. Smart move!?!?
