I am trying to use Vegas Video 2.0 to create a project. The problem is that Vegas 2.0 on ly works with avi. Most of the movies I ahve are MPEG. When I convert them with TMPGE they come out HUGE. What are some programs I can use to resize the avis. (a 3:30 minute mpeg is about 1.5 GB) Thanks for the help.

If you use a DV codec, the avi filesize will be somewhat smaller (probably around 850MB for your 3:30min video), and obviously even smaller if you use a 'lossy' codec like divx. But if you really want to retain quality, you should invest in some more disk drives. I have 180GB just for video, and I still wish I had more sometimes...
