Hey, I flashed my Hitachi (47dj I think) a year ago with Maximus-GaryOpa 2.2 and all games work fine even when dashboard updates have been applied via new games. I do not play online with this console.
I have now flashed a similar drive with version 2.3 Rev2 for my nephew but he might want to go online with this console... so is it currently safe for him to do that with the Maximus-GaryOpa 8in1 2.3 re2?
Also, I have just been reading about iXtreme 1.2 rev2 for Hitachi. Should I be restoring the two consoles above and applying this flash instead?
if you want to play online, you will need ixtreme 1.2rev2. the only thing about ixtreme is that unless your games are completely stealthed (made with a kreon flashed samsung drive) then it will not read them.
it is not safe to go online unless you have stealthed games and firmware, so for your FW i would say no.
Hi, thx for that. I might reflash his so he can play online or at least have the option. I do backup with a Kreon drive (version 1.00) and rip with Schtrom (latest version) so the games should be detected. I might leave my drive as it is or reflash with Maximus-GayOpa version 2.3 (or have I seen someone mention 2.4?). If I do this then, for the now the Dashboard updates that come with games should be ok? I have always answered 'yes' to install them.

Yup, your games should be detected.
I believe as long as you're running stealthed backups, you should be alright to update. the reason everyone always says yes to updates it because:
1.) if you don't update, you cant play on Live and you loose it for sure
2.) the odds of getting banned are slim to none with stealthed backups and ixtreme.
if you have time, i would highly recommend reflashing to ixtreme to avoid booting any non stealthed games
Hi thx for the advice. Actually, I am about to take both cases apart again as I have bought two spare cases which I am spraying black as well a the controllers. Rather than spraying the front I have bought two black faceplates which were cheap (Joytech official faceplates). I wanted to try the Elite look without the price and some other guys have done it with very good results! Since the cases are open anyway, I will reflash both with iXtreme....
