I have heard mixed reviews i mean it works fine right?

i have it, and when it works, it works fine. when it doesn't, you get angry.
for em i have had a few problems. #1 problem being that the top case didnt match up 100% with the sony case, so this caused alot of headaches. tighten the screws all the way the Rest button turns on; but the tray won't open. not enough and the tray opens, but you cant get the rest button to turn on. it took me a while to screwing and unscrewing to get it just right, and still once and a while i have to wiggle the rest button. now i know. you would think you wouldn't need the tray since it has a lid, but in order to load the swap disc you need to inser tthat via tray so that the ps2 reloads its internal memory or something like that. a few times it has turned off while i was in mid play.

also make sure that you have the device int he middle of the lid loose enough so the magnit is low enough to hold in the ps2 game. if it is too high it will make scratching like sounds, if you tap ont he lid it will fix. always make sure the lid is closed all the way or the disc could scratch or break. it is so hard for these things not to be closed 100% because they are made cheap.

however... it beats removing the front of a tray and always playign with that trigger. there is apparently a version of a tray which you add something to the outside of the tray so you can easily just pul on a handle to open it up,without poking at anything inside the tray. IF that works... it might be the safest bet to avaid damaging anything.
