Best software for ripping online video ?

I am looking for software to rip online videos to my hdd. I've tried a few different ones but none seem to work right. I'm looking for one that will rip pretty much any online format. flv,wmv,mpeg,divx. and streaming video if its possible.

I've tried FRAPS, WM Recorder, and CamStudio.

I applogize for the noob question, but I can't seem to find anything good to use.
