Wanted to backup The Hoax-movie only
FabDvdHdDecrypter version 3210 would not even begin to write a file
to the harddrive. AnyDVD6184 and Shrink will process about 3/4 to
ISO and then just stall. It keeps trying to progress but doesn't.
Anybody had any luck with this one?

Did you try AnyDVD's rip to hard disk function, bypassing Shrink altogether?
If it works, process through VobBlanker or FixVTS before opening it with Shrink.
If it doesnt, let us know, it might have to wait for an update to either HDDecrypter or AnyDVD.

Tried ripping to the harddrive with AnyDVD. That would have included
the whole disc. It goes to 48% and cannot go farther.
I'm going to look up the threads on the FabDvdHDDecrypter. Seem to
remember there was new thing there to try if the usual way didn't
work.

Shardel -
I use a combination of AnyDVD and DVDShrink, i have never had a problem. OK make sure you have the most resent version of AnyDVD. Then insert disk... ect. OK after DVDShrink is done analyzing, click Unreferenced Material located on the left. On the right, where Automatic is highlighted, choose Still Image from the drop down menu. Then click back up!.
This has worked ever time there has ever been a problem with DVDShrink, for me. I hope this helps.

It was recently we had news on how AnyDVD was now "futureproof"!!!
Slysoft's new ad campaign...Looking into the future, one Tuesday at a time.
I hope you find a fix to help, and let us know how you get along!

DVDZane-tried what you suggested-didn't work
Looked up the FabDVDHdDecrypter. It said that if it ran into an
error it would ask to restart and then it would use the new Pathfinder. Could not get that to work either.
Think we may have to wait for updates. I'm out of ideas. Would
like to run FixVTS on this one, but couldn't get it to the hard-
drive to even try.

Thanks for letting me know. It could be a bad press. I'll wait for
a further update from you, but will probably exchange it tomorrow.

There is a problem with some of the replies. The pad and pencil
for editing does not show up when it should.
Anyway wanted to let you know it is definitely a bad press. Decided
to try and play it in my standalone player. Started it at half
way through because I was pretty sure the first half was okay. A
little way in it would not play on that player either.
Thanks for all the help. Sorry I was such a bother. From now on
I'll check this first.

I'm gonna pick this title up probably on Thursday. If you still haven't cracked it yet, I'll post here and let you know. I'm confident my process will work as usual.

I was able to backup the movie The Hoax using just using DVDFab Platinum 3.0.1.0. When I got the read error I just clicked on ignore all and left it run. At first it seem it stalled but after few mins it began to start decode the movie. hope this works for all you out there. Then I use DVD Shrink and reauthor what i didnt want and burn to DVD5 disk.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to help.
It turned out I did have a defective disc. After I exchanged it,
both sets of programs would do it.
