Are you sure its the media? I've been advised by a friend to look online for this problem as its not actually the media, but the settings for the dvd writer, something do do with setting it to UDMA instead of PIO or the opposite?

I got the same problems with Bulkpaq Dvd-Rs and cdrs sometimes :/

Funny I am having the same problems with the A05 and was checking the forums for media problems like this. It would be nice to have a compatibility chart that works on hardware and software -together.

i have the pioneer 106 and i've only used princo for burnin. i've found that the majority of movies work fine on my dvd player when on friends it comes up all scratchy now and then, especially different region dvd's.

I have an AO5 with 1.30 firmware. The Princos work fine that I used. I bought mine from shop4tech.com (Leadata) I have another buddy with the same drive A05 and he uses DVDpro media (Princo media id) from cdrvdrmedia.com.

Just remember that the Princos are the most widely reproduced generic DVD media so be careful where you buy your Princos. Roam all media forums you can find (dvdrhelp.com, this one and cdfreaks.com) to see what other users who have your drive are using for media.

Good luck.

There is a compatibility chart on www.bigpockets.co.uk and I'm sure it advises against buying Princo for the Pioneer A06

Yeh, I took a chance on some Princo's and they did not work. e.g- read errors, jumpy, blocky playback for a while then the disk would fail.
Not advised really.

The Phantom Baw Flinger stikes again! Wuh Ha Ha!!
