Archos 604 Recording Trouble

Can anyone help.... I have recently bought the Archos 604 and docking station. However, when I try to record from my TV, a horizontal black line/bar appears on the screen of the Archos and moves up the screen throughout the recording. This renders the recording very unwatchable. A thinner snowy line is also sometimes visible. Any suggestions?
