i got the same problem with Nero 6.0.0.0 and the LG GSA-4040B, burning is finished succesfully but windows doesnt see the data, just says its an empty disk :s

later on i tried CopyToDvd to burn some files on the dvd and this worked fine.

Anyone knows the problem between Nero and the LG 4040B? i really want to use Nero, its the best allround burning prog i know off

mksl

i'm using platinum dvd+r's, dont think that they are the problem.

mksl, i'm just burning files from my hd, not a movie so dont have 2 use dvd-shrink.

datadoc, thx 4 the info, 2 bad there aint a solution yet, cant find anything on the lg website. Hope they come with one quick :s

In the meantime, does anybody know another good burning prog (nero-style) for burning files and maybe one 4 movies?

Thx in advance,

Greetz Sound X.

SoundX i haven't tried burning anyfiles but i know if you use Nero u have to choose the burner on the top when Nero opens, and also id u are burning video files then you have to put then in the video folder. i have Nero 6 and Nero ultra, but i usually use Nero Express, it's in the Nero6 i think. I use to put the files right below the audio and video folder, and nothing will come after the DVD is burned, so try opening the video folder and putting all the files in there and then burn it. As for the movies, if you want to burn just the movie then use DVD Shrink and Nero, or u can use Xcopy paltinum. it will compress a regular DVD and burn the whole movie (7.+gig) in a regular 4.7 gig dvd.
Good luck

guyz, i downloaded the new Nero 6.3.0.0 and burning datafiles on a dvd works fine now (platinum dvd+r 4x)... the files show up in windows explorer so the disc reads correctly now. I think this will be the same with videofiles etc ...

Hope upgrading to Nero 6.3.0.0 will help you guys also!

I have the same burner and I tried to burn a movie (dvd4?) that did not need compression. I constantly get the message "no media in drive" . It's making me nutz because I have a lot of goodies I need to burn. I'm using TDK media dvd+r. I'll get the newest Nero and try Roxio as well. Also I tried with Alcohol but no luck either. My firmware is the most current one avail.

I think you guys might need the firmware upgrade (version A300 or A301) at this site:

Just an additional note. Version A301 just optimizes the burner for Princo 4x media and one other I think, so A300 is all you really need.
