I read u have to patch something when using cdrwin to make a backup?

You cant play backup games on a ps2 without a modchip/swap disk or w/e patching is just for DVD-9 to DVD-5 disk and online games.

i know that. But i was reading and with protected games do u have to patch something with cdrwin?

The disk are not copy protected, they can be copied eaisly with most programs, but it cannot be played in regular PS2 without some sort of mod.
