I've purchased Swap Magic 3.6 w/ Flip Top to play backups on my slim PS2, and did so last Friday. I recieved an order confirmation, but when trying to contact them regarding shipping, etc their customer services has been lacking, as they have not responded to me in four days.
I was just wondering if anyone had dealt with them in the past?
Thanks

I got a shipping confirmation 4 days after they shipped. They said to contact them if I haven't received my stuff 8 business days after I received the shipping confirmation e-mail. So in total thats 12 business days. My product was shipped on the 15th of this month. I received the email on the 19th. So by the end of it, they are saying that over 3 weeks of waiting is an acceptable amount of time. They are crap, and I will never order from them again!

I made an order on Oct. 11th... I didn't receive a shipment confirmation email, so I emailed them on the 18th asking what the deal was. They responded the next day telling me it had been shipped on the 12th.
So I waited my 8 business days, and still, nothing, so I emailed them again, it was now the 24th. No response. Emailed again the 26th. No response.
Today is the 30th, a full 2 weeks since my credit card charge was finalized, 12 business days since they shipped, and still nothing.
Avoid this company at all costs...

If I don't recieve an e-mail from them by Friday regarding the status of my shipping (it will have been a full 3 weeks or 21 Days since my payment) I informed them that I will be contacting a legal consult to A. get my money back and B. get them shut down.
I wouldn't be doing this if they would just have some sort of correspondance with me.
I didn't recieve my shipping confirmation until I e-mailed them either. And they sent me that e-mail 4 days after they said that shipped the item.
If there is anyone else that has had problems, please post. I would be interested to know where they are located, and how many people have dealt with them.
Thanks!

I'm the third one down the list.
I set up an email with a php script that gets sent every 10 hours on a cron job, but each day it takes away 15 minutes from the cron time lol.. so in about 2 or 3 more weeks they should be receiving the same email from me about every 10 minutes constantly.. unless they've already filtered it out, which is very possible.. after the confirmation email no less I bet.
Honestly, I'm not going to even bother taking the legal approach. I dont think any authorities are going to bother trying to shut them down. But I know a few people that could keep that site offline for a while if need be. It would be a shame to have to sink to their level, but at this point I dont really care.
jhempel24, they are based in Monaco. If you are unfamiliar, it's a country on the coast of France, only about the size of a mid-range Costco store.
I could walk to Monaco from the US in the 3 weeks it has taken for my product to NOT ARRIVE.

Well, I guess my next question is, has anyone received their product that they ordered, say starting in the beginning of September??
If so, then I will just not hold my breath and hope I get my product before Christmas.

I've been contemplating that as well. If you look at the reseller link I gave in the earlier post, it looks like a pattern with them to send the confirmation of shipping, then cut off communication with you as best as possible, but it also looks like everybody ends up editing their post saying they received their package usually about 4 or 5 weeks after the original ship date.
I've tried everything besides sending them a mail bomb to illicit a response from them. Nada.. guess by the looks of things I'll probably be waiting another week or two.. everybody waiting, be sure to post back here with developments.

I'm going to theorize why I think everybody's stuff is coming extremely late. And I'm going to predict that all of us that ordered within the past month to month and a half will all get our products within 3 days apart of each other.
Here goes:
http://modchipstore.com/Swap-Magic--PS2-...line-16153.html
Now, aside from the fact that this store's inventory went from available to sold out strangely in the past few days, that might be a mere coincidence, but look at how big of a discount you get on stuff if you buy 15 or 20 at a time...
If I were a company outside of the states, I'd probably consider taking everybody's money up front, then ordering the parts/discs/whatever, order them all at once, take the discounted money and pocket it. Not keeping the inventory on hand saves you a lot, plus ordering all at once gives you one shipping fee.
This is all fine and dandy as far as I'm concerned, I dont care how much they paid, I just want my product for the price they gave me that I paid them.
So if they did go this route, I know for a fact that modchipstore.com takes 7 business days to get to my house in KY from Dallas, TX via DHL express shipping. It would probably take about 10-12 to get to Monaco, then give the guy a day or two to sort out the dozens of orders he just got, and send them back out, taking probably another week or so to get from Monaco to your house..
Just a thought... sound reasonable?

Well, mine came today... a full 15 BUSINESS DAYS after I ordered (Oct.12). But it did come, works fine. Will not do business with again though, the dishonesty and flakiness of the company is completely unacceptable to me.

That gives me hope. I ordered mine on October 12th as well. I live in Cincinnati OH, not far from Kentucky at all, so I hope to get it in the next couple of days.
Thanks!
Oh, and your theory makes sense.

They seem to be two different stores.

modchip.com
But I have ordered from modchipstore.com as well and I fully recommend them based on my experience.
I ordered a spiderchip for xbox about 2 years ago from modchipstore.com, I received it in 7 business days just as described on their site. They are based in TX. Here's the winner for me: either I broke one of the wires off, or it was just faulty manufacturing on the chip, but I emailed modchipstore.com about it, although they are a little slow on emails (about 1-2 days, but always answers them!), they gave me instructions to ship it back to them, I had to pay postage on the return of course, but they shipped me a better brand and I paid the difference, they covered the subsequent shipping back to me.
Nothing like this modchip.com site.. they are worthless when it comes to timeliness & customer quality. I did receive my order from them no less, but it took almost an ENTIRE MONTH and they would not respond to emails. But I guess with as many complaint emails they probably get, I would say they probably dont have time or patience to answer them all and just dont answer any of them anymore. I thought that was the purpose of email templating though?
Anyway, any future readers considering modchip.com:
I'd suggest staying away, unless they have an exclusive/rare item you MUST have and you dont care to wait 3-50 weeks to receive your package and feel like you are getting shafted the entire time.

LoL.. don't bother sending any more unless you just want to annoy the hell out of them (I Sure Did!) for lying to you about the shipping times. You'll more than likely (see: EVENTUALLY) get your product. But no amount of emailing is going to make it come any faster I dont think. I sent them about 12 over the course of Sunday - Thursday this week, then a low grade email bombardment to top it off on Friday, never heard anything back. Before this week though I'd send them one every day or two, still nothing. Got my package on Saturday, did I feel guilty for emailing the shit out of them? Not a chance. Odds are they block your email address or have it spam filtered right after they send you the confirmation email any way.
But in the interest of getting them to be a little more honest, I recommend everybody that can do it, to email them at a near constant rate, especially if you are familiar with any kind of scripting and have a nice proxy to run through... they might not receive the emails but it'll definitely put some extra strain on their server.
I mean, think about it, they are more than deserving of this treatment if they are willing to flat out lie about shipping times when they are more than aware that 90% of their customer base does NOT receive the product they order from them in the 5-8 business days they quote. Why else would they not answer emails with concerns about why people aren't receiving their packages until 3 or 4 weeks after they order them??

Well, that gives me hope. If shipping comes from a TX hub, and you got yours this weekend, then mine shouldn't be that far behind. I sent them an e-mail cussing them to holy hell and back. I know that it didn't do any good, but it sure as hell made me feel better. :D
My wife is using this against me because online internet orders are evil according to her >:O LOL "I told you so!" LOL

No no, modchipstore.com is Texas based. They are the good guys I was talking about in an earlier post. I recommend them, they tell me 7 days for shipping, I receive my order in 7 days.
modchip.com is still based in Monaco.
They are the evil gypsies we speak of. They are also #4 prostitute in all of Kazakhstan.. VERY NICE.
But dont worry, you'll get your order more than likely. And you're right, it probably didnt help to go off on them, but it sure makes ya feel a lot better when you do! :)

Yes. I've ordered form modchip.com too. I ordered the swap magic v3.6 bundle w/ slim kit pro. It took about a week to get here but when it did, i think there were some defects in tool c as it would not go down. i emailed their support on this like twice a week ago and they haven't responded. I had even made a thread about my problem as I had not seen this one before.

This all really makes me wonder if something like a week long DDOS spree would even do anything to change their customer service policy...
I mean, if their site was down for a while, they might have enough time to catch up on their orders, maybe send out a few empty templated emails to people wanting even THAT. Maybe putting their noses in the corner with a little street justice is the way to go.. give them some time to think about who's keeping them off of the streets by buying their sketchy products..
Not that I'm inciting a call-to-war or anything lol.. :D
