DVD decrypter would not get past 5 percent. Tried just DVD shrink.No it wouldn't detect it.Says copy right.I used trial version anydvd. worked well.But the problem in shrink is the files are to large.I've done automatic compression.Just the movie itself.which is over 5,008 MB even if I delete credits and uncheck those boxes.I don't know what to do.Any suggestions?It says 113 mintues entire disc.But the movie itself is 1:53:00 long or something around there.Would I just have to back it up half of the movie on one disc, and the other on another disc?just the movie. the disc has about space for 2 hours.sony dvd-r discs i'm using.

When compressing a file source for backup, file size is more important than time the video runs. For compression, we're usually more interested in GB and MB. When doing a backup from DVD9 to DVD5 the file size gets smaller, but the runtime remains the same.

Those readings sound like before transcoding (shrinking) with DVD Shrink. Leaving the compression settings in auto, were those the readings after you ran Backup to shrink the files? Hopefully if you're wanting DVD5 you didn't set Shrink to DVD9.
