Playing burned CD's in car

My problem is that the music CD's I burn using a combo DVD/CD burner at 16X speed is that they skip when the weather is hot. The CD's play fine until the temperature gets hot in the car. Even with the A/C on and the temp inside the car at 72 degrees they will begin to skip (momentarily stop playing and then resume). It will happen in the winter too if I have the heater on, I can take the CD out of the player (it's warm to the touch), cool it off and it will play fine until it gets hot again. The temp today is about 70 degrees and the CD's are playing fine. Occasionally I will get a CD ERR message on the player. I have bought the best (most expensive) CD's I can find but they still fail. I am using Roxie Easy CD creator as the burn engine. Commercial CD's play fine no matter the temp. Any ideas?

Brand names dont mean crap. Its just a sticker or what not on the cd. What matters is the manufacturer -- do they have a good rep? You can find that out using an ATIP reader
CDRIdentifier allows you to read the ATIP on a blank cdr(w) (ATIP is essentially a code embedded into a CDR(W) that allows you to identify what company actually manufacturered the disc (as opposed to what company marketed it). As for burns. How fast are you burning at?

The CD's play fine in my DVD player, but it doesn't get as warm as the car CD player. I have not tried them in other car CDs, but, comercially available CD's play just fine in my car's system at any temp.

From my experience, it could just be the cd player in your car that has trouble reading it when it gets too hot. Also, if you want to be safe, just burn the cd's at a slower speed to see if that will solve the problem.

I burned 1 CD at 4x and it played fine for a couple of days. I now have a CD in the car that I bought a few years ago. We'll see if it plays fine or not. I said that bought CD's played fine, but that may have been only for a short time last winter in this car. I have been playing my own CDs for about 10 months now and I bought the car in January. If it turns out to be the car system, I guess I'll see how well Nissan does on it's warranty.
