PLEASE HELP CANT GET RID OF SPYWARE....

For the past week I have been getting constant pop-ups telling me I have spy-ware and I should download their recommended software, Bestsellerantivirus. I also get pop-ups from savetheinformation.com and security warnings from spybot@MXt. I also get Live Safety Center and Security Troubleshooting Icons on my desktop that look like legitimate security icons. I seemed to of deleted it it was good for 2 days then it came back...I tryed every scanner i know... ccleaner, ad-aware, mcafee, avg-antispyware, no adware, i scanned with vundofix got 2 dll's but they wouldnt delete i went into safe mode and did it and did it in normal mode too..... please help this is pissing me off!!

Trend micro antispyware
counterspy

Install both and scan similtaneously. Make sure you update definition files first before the scan.

Hi latino209,

I haven't looked at vundo removal threads for a couple of months so I don't know what the current removal techniques are. Comments on vundofix:

The vundofix has probably been updated since your problems started, so if you haven't done so, you can download the most current version and see if that helps.

If it is not deleting all the files on the first pass, two things
1) you can run vundofix repetitively to try to get all files removed, say repeat it four times. Run once, let it find, reboot, and delete stuff, and then repeat the process 3 more times and see if that gets you to a clean report.

2) also, if you set your cursor in the white area in the middle of the vundofix screen and right click, you will get to a screen where you can specify dll file paths to delete. If you are getting something in the hijackthis log that you recognize as vundo dll or in the vundo report that are not deleting, you can try adding the dll files that way and see if that will get them all.
