I am useing (newbie to bittorrents)Utorrent 1.7.7 but got through this guide ok. I have one screen that I need help in Preferences: Conneection: I have two choices either UPnP port mapping or Nat- PMP port mapping or both?
I have a dlink 4300, have static ip, gamefuel off.
Still top downloads are 60k/b for torrents, while other files hit 400k/b
I am interested in faster speed, so will continue to read all other fourms, and subscribe to this thread.
also: Is it because I am doing a 11.2 Gb file? I have 1(34) seeds and 12(226) peers showing. My ISP cut me off last month ( at 40 Gb ) as I was uploading like crasy befor I read this guide.

Funny how a little yellow icon can help get you up to 175 K/b. I might call it a day. I am getting up to 175k/b. I have tried setting the isp to 1 m/b or 10 and that may have helped. But actually it was the router d-link 4300 was not set up with the "rule" for proper port forwarding.
I am still getting an error when I do a port checking, it says it seems it is not appear to be open. Any comments?
And how do I ensure that peer guardian is allowing utorrent.com? Can I assume it is fine if I am d/l at 100-175k/b?

It seems like several people are having problems with disk overload and extreme speed drops with ”Torrent.
This is the way to solve the problem:
