Having problem with quick PAR

I use grab it with giga news and after finishing a download I run quick par and it scans the files and a few have errors with usually one missing block.I click repair and it seems to work fine but when it rescans after the repair it still says the files have errors so it wont decode properly with winrar.
It also makes a new file after the repair with the same name but with a 1 at the end.If I run it again it will do the same thing but put a 2 at the end.I tried differant settings but cant get it to work properly.
I have the latest version and just installed it on a fresh install of windows xp pro.
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks.
