Is there a legal and free version of HD loader?

HD Loader always sounded much better to me than Swap Magic to play backups, but I've heard HD loader is illegal in the US. Is there a free and legal version of HD loader?

there are free versions of hdloader on the internet, but it's not legal. you have to boot them with a .elf launcher.


you either use hdloader or you don't. easy as that.
