I hope I'm posting this correctly
I added this question to another reply..but read it
and thought to start new thread. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry.
Hello everyone,
Unable to burn 4 disc that I bought saturday.
One is in Japensese and I am takeing it back for exchange.
The other three is Transformers, Planet Terror and Decadent Evil.
I have Slyfox Any Dvd , Clone Dvd and Dvd Fab Decryptor, Dvd Shrink and IMG Burn.
All programs will not recoginise disc's.
I have had very good luck with these programs for well over a year and little by little my copies have been far and few between.
My DMA is on and I am doing nothing different in recording.
This is all very frustrating because I don't know where to go from here.
I have been putting this letter off for two monts, trying to figure it out myself.
Any help would be great.
This start with the basics...although you may have already tried it. It never hurts to be double-checked. ;)
(1) Are all programs up-to-date with the latest versions. I believe AnyDVD is 6.1.8.4 and DVDFab Decrypter is 3.1.8.0.
(2) I figure this is a long shot if the DVDs are new, but check to make sure they are free of scratches and fingerprints. You never know!
(3) Check to make sure your memory is good. Some programs, like Shrink, are notorious for not responding well to a fragmented HDD. Defrag and try again.
Try a couple of these and see if they help. Also, if you can post the exact error message you are receiving, that may help too. AnyDVD and DVDFab Decrypter should work on these titles.
It sounds more like a problem with your DVD drive than anything else. If your DVD drive won't recognize and playback a commercial disk, that's obviously a major issue. I assume your drive won't playback any DVD at all. Is that correct? Does it recognize, playback, and burn CDs?
Try uninstalling the drive with Device Manager and then letting the system auto-install upon restart.
- right click on My Computer and select Manage.
- click on Device Manager.
- expand DVD/CD-ROM drives.
- right click on the name of the DVD burner and select Uninstall and OK.
- restart
If you're using IDE, while in Device Manager, also uninstall the IDE channel that the burner is on unless it's the same channel as the system hard disk drive.
Have you tried cleaning the drive lens with a lens cleaner?
It's possible that the drive has just gone wonky and needs to be replaced.
If you have a desktop burner, is there another system in which you can install the burner for testing? If it doesn't work when installed in another system, it's in all likelihood a toasted burner and needs replacing. If it works installed in another system, there is a corrupted driver/registry that's likely causing the problem.
There is one other thing you might try. Try opening it to play
first. Then shut it off. Sometimes then your other programs
will recognize it.
I have been using AnyDVD and have not had a problem with getting
good copies. The more difficult ones need to be ripped with the
AnyDVD ripper to the harddrive and processed after that.
Thanks for responding to you both.
I can rip/burn some movies, especially
the ones that I already rip/burned
But I will copy your instructions and
give it a try.
Thanks again.. I mean it.
