Hi guys need some help desperately

i have a LG 32LC2R with the following specs:
General
Screen technologyLCD
Diagonal screen size32 inch
Aspect ratio16:9
Additional features2006 XD Engine; 3D digital comb filter; HDMI terminal.
Dimensions (HxWxD)566.9 x 811 x 123.5 mm
Weight25.5 kg


I have switched from Av to HD the picture is amazing but i am not getting any SOund. When i did the automatic detection settings no sound comes up. SO i went and manually configure audio settings -> automatic (Error message sayd the HD does not support sound) -> Then i tried manual and only selected the 44khz and the 48.1 khz but still nothing.

Can not understand why the sound dont work cos i dont have surround sound or a theatre system just playing of the tv's speakers.Could someone please help me i am now getting desperate.

2 Questions:
1.Component cables or hdmi?
2.Is there by any chance an optical input on the tv?

HDMI cable , Unfortunately there is no input for optical cable on the tv.

I'v taken a look around and there isnt anyone else that has reported this problem. It might be that the ps3 dosent detect the sound capibilities of the tv or it is thinking it is just a monitor and not a tv. What id do is id try some component cables, no you wont loose video or audio quality but yes its back to analog. If you're still not getting sound from the components in hd I'd call up LG about it.

Hi Thanks FOr replying

When i insert the cables and select that option it plays the video in HDMI and the SOund on a different AV i am so confussed. COuld it be my HDMI cable not playing the audio is this possible and should i just purchase another one?

I wouldnt say its out of the question, id try and take it back and get a replacement cable.
