Ok hello everyone, I am an American in Europe and I wanted to play an American NTSC game, which I had shipped to me.

I was going to have my PS2 shipped to me from the US, buy a stepdown converter, buy a NTSC to PAL converter but I didnt have a 60Hz TV, so I bought a Crystal modded PAL PS2.

Problem is, when I hook it up and try to run my NTSC game, Im still getting only B&W as the output on my TV.

Is this a PAL problem? a TV frequency problem or what? I assume yall would know, I tried reading all of the FAQs, which led me to my first solution (buying the converters) before I figured it would be cheaper just to buy the modded PS2.

Short version:
Crystal Modded PAL PS2
US NTSC PS2 game
PAL 50Hz TV
Either RGB or Scart output

Problem:
Only B&W on my TV, correct picture size, but no color and bad quality

Its because of the TV. Try running a PAL game and you will see that it runs in color.

solution : buy a scart/rgb cable
