I do live in Canada, but not in British Columbia. Sorry. Hope it all goes well. Maybe you could go to a Chinese Mall to pick up one. I'm sure they should have one.

My PSP Firmware History: 2.60 had to return the PSP because it had a dead pixel > new PSP had firmware 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 > 3.71 M33 with 1.50 kernel

There are members on this site, that might do it for free. You will just have to pay for shipping to them and back with your spare battery and memory stick inside the package.

Take sometime to make a friend with one of the members. I recommend having a senior member or higher to do it. I just sent my memory stick and battery to senior member yesterday.

Its better than sending it to a bidding site like eBay. They charge for the service and plus shipping cost.

here's how to do it WITHOUT a CFW PSP:

open up the battery with a guitar pick or something. (its easy)

find the eeprom pin #5. (eeprom has "S93C56" on it)

cut that pin (5) terminal off. (DO NOT TOUCH PIN 6)

now close the battery, and tape it so itll stay closed.

since it wont read the eeprom, it automaticly reads (11111111 etc)

this sends to the psp the service mode signal: 0xFFFFFFFF

you now have a pandoras battery. now, find the magic memory card files on google.

put them on your card with your official PSP. (read instructions)

now put the battery in, and then the card.

downgrade to 1.5

then upgrade to cfw!!!!!!

now try connecting the pin back. LOL

you should now be able to boot normally. (maybe lol)

THIS DOES WORK, its just a little hindering... :(

He could do that but that depends if he has surgeon like hands. If you touch another pin by mistake then he could ruin his battery somehow. I suggest what Venom has to say.

not only will it mess up your battery if you go wrong, but apparently you can blow it up. lol

hope nobody has blown up their hands or faces since this discovery.

i think its pretty cool. some find it useless.

but it really works! (why didnt people just do this while they were crying about downgraders!!?!) *yes, i know. we didnt know.. lol*

my battery didnt blow up. it just has lots of tape on it now. (i was curious. lol)

i didnt use a soldering iron, since i dont have one. i cut that terminal as good as i could. and it worked. then i put some tape to reconnect, and so far it still works. (hope it doesnt blow inside my PSP!!!)

Well good thing I have a homebrew enabled PSP. I feel sorry for those who have a bricked PSP and know no one with a homebrew enabled PSP. But at least I know one person with a CFW PSP. The rest they're stuck on official firmware (heh, they're missing out all the fun!). Anyways, I just need a spare memory stick pro duo and I'll be able to unbrick my PSP if I happen to get it bricked. Oh I have a question. You can recover a PSP that has been bricked by flashing a custom theme using the Pandora's battery right?
