Hi All, I followed the instructions to install my wiikey (all be it I managed to bugger one of the solder points ont he board so I soldered it to the leg instead after following some other instructions) but when I load an original disk it says "disk read error".
When I remove one of the points from the wiikey (the one thats loose in the picture) the original disks work fine. I tried burning and setting up the install files but they dont work either. these are a few photo's

Any ideas?

That's a horrible install. You need to trim the bare wires shorter and use 30AWG only.

Also use more solder on the points on the Wiikey.

I just got mine working, and the config 1.3 disk doesn't work until it's modified with gcos and then hexedited. I get a disk error. Come to think of it, the problem could be that the first two I tried on maxell and non-name brand DVD-Rs. Switched to Verbatim DVD-R and burned at 4x - works like a charm.

ye its an awful install but being a 23 yr old girl with zilch experience of soldering Im not suprised! If its not working because of the wires being too long or the solder not being enough Ill have to find someone who can fix it for me. My main aim was to make sure the chip worked first!

Did you get disk error on ordinary disks?

what do you mean by modified with gcos and then hexedited?

Thanks for ya help!
