Cant open Windows media player & Photoshop from desktop? HELP

Hello guys, hope you can help me with this matter!

I have windows media player v.11 & Photoshop?

Whenever I click on their icons from my desktop they never open, I cant even play my MP3 music files with windows media player.

What are the reasons for these 2 programs not to run?

Thank you the problem solved, it was some file called MAagent.exe
