How to find firmware update of Hitachi drive?

Does anyone know how to find out which firmware update is on my Hitachi drive?

Also, is there a tutorial anywhere on how to put a new drive into an xbox 360?

theres many totrials on how to swap oout your drive, and get the drive key....
also if you flashed your firmware yourself...you should have read the folder...C4EVA, maximus_garyopa....xtreme...ixtreme etc....

if someone did it for you, you should ask them.....thses arereally obvious things that really only YOU can answer yourself.....just search arround....

My drive hasn't been flahed yet. Can anyone give me a few steps of what needs to be done? So far i only know that i have to:

Get drive key from broken drive
put that drive key on new drive.

Do I need to do anything to prepare the drive before getting the key off?

Sorry if my questions have obvious answers. I'm not very experienced with this stuff so sometimes i don't get some of the simple concepts.
