I have a series 1 TiVo sitting in my closet. It works fine, but since i switched to cable last year i havent been able to use it because i dont have a home phone line. I dont even know anyone with a house phone these days. Im wondering if the newer version TiVo or if I got one from a cable or satellite company , would still need a phone line?

Id really just like to get the one I have working again because i paid the lifetime service fee.
