Can someone tell me what I need and how to play my backups using an external HD on a fat ps2? And say it in n00bspeak? I did a search, but I keep seeing terms like network adapter and USBeXtreme, and the USBeXtreme site says to use it I'll need 'a USB Hard drive Enclosure with Hard drive installed (both devices are sold separately), either 3.5?? or 2.5?? and a bunch of other stuff I just can't make sense of.
The only usable external HD I have right now is a Western Digital 80gb. Unless I missed something, it plugs into a USB port on my computer to run, so I suppose it counts as a USB Hd...Would using that work?
-If the hard drive can fit into your extension bay, it should work. I have a Seagate 40GB and it fits.
-Now, all you do is you have to buy a network adapter. They're discontinued, so you have to look for them in eBay.
-When you have it, connect it to your HDD, then your PS2.
-Next thing is you have to buy HDLoader or HDExtreme. It lets you load iso images that are on your hard drive.
-Lastly, download Winhiip. This thing helps you write iso files onto your HDD. You have to connect your HDD to your computer to do that, tho.
I never had any experience doing that, so do not blame me if something goes wrong, that's the best I can do.
