NTSC-J game won't play on my US player

I just bought Hudson's Adventure Island PS2 game for my USA PS2 player and big surprise it doesn't work.
does anyone know of something I can buy that will make it work and some website where I can purchase it?
Also is it hard to install? Will I break my PS2?
Please help!

You would need a modchip or Swapmagic, Google it because I don't think I am allowed to post links to it.
