This is unbelievable! I posted this problem some time ago - no one answered! For god's sakes, help me because it's vital!
Some games do not recognize my memory card. Examples are:
Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2
One Piece: Grand Adventure Guitar Hero 3
50 Cent: bulletproof
Metal Gear Solid 3 Substinence
Yeah, 8MB MagicGate SCPH-10020. Shipped from Hong Kong from eBay.
I found a solution, but it's kinda unsatisfying. When it says that there is no memory card, I have to take it out for a minute, then put it back and press Retry. That usually works.
You may want to go to a local retail store and buy an official sony 8mb memory card (the one you bought may be fake or something).
or
You may want to look into the memory card emulator software, but your ps2 must be homebrew compatible. (independence expliot or modchip).
If you go with this option there may be a way to load the expliot along with a copy of ulaunchelf from a disc but I have never tried this. google.
So if I use a memory card emulator, don't I need a hard drive for that? And I don't think I need a new memory card, because many other backup games can read mine. Seems like the games built on specific engines don't like my MC. First 3 Guitar Hero games work, but GH3 gets glitchy. Both Viewtiful Joes don't see my MC. Tony Hawk Underground 2 can see it, but THP8 and THPG don't. What may cause those games to recognize my MC a minute after it has been taken out of the slot?
Hello all,
I have the same problem with the memory card, my metal gear solid 3 and guitar hero 3 wouldn't recognize my memory card, it says no memory card found.
I tried removing the memory card for one minute and it only worked once with guitar hero 3, but never did with metal gear
I have the original sony 8Mb card and it works for my other backup games. I use swap magic.
can anyone please help out here. I'm sure there are other people out there who encounter the same problem.
thanks
