we have got a psp with 2.82 on it but want to down load games etc what do i need an dhow i do it please simple terms lol

You have 3 options.

1) Update to 3.03 official firmware and use the GTA Liberty City Stories and use the game exploit to downgrade to 1.50 firmware. You will need an unpatched version of GTA Liberty City Stories. You can find a guide HERE. Look under the section of -2.81 - 3.03 Any Motherboard.

2) Update to 3.50 official firmware and use the Lumines game exploit to downgrade to 1.50 firmware. You will need an unpatched version of Lumines. You can find a guide HERE. Look under the section of -3.10 - 3.50 Any Motherboard.

3) Use this guide HERE to create a Universal Unbricker/Upgrader which will upgrade your PSP straight to 3.71 m33-2 custom firmware. You will need a PSP and FAT Battery that has 3.XX custom firmware on it to create the Universal Unbricker/Upgrader.

If you use option 1 or 2 after you downgrade the PSP to 1.50 firmware you will need to go HERE and upgrade the PSP to 3.52 M33-4 so you can play games off of memory Stick.
