I'm newb to video formats and I've searched and read for 3 days. I was wondering if anyone could explain a few things to me..

I was under the impression that copy once ment, you can make 1 copy? But now i'm confused, and have heard that copy once means you can only copy to a DVHS compliant machine or disk (which would be a disk that is +VR rated?)

I have a DVR from comcast with some shows recorded on it. Some of these shows must be rated copy once because when I hooked up my new DVD recorder it tell me some of my shows are copywrited and can not be recorded to disk. Apparently they were not copy never otherwise I wouldn't have been able to save them to my DVR to begin with? So did I use my 'once' when I recorded it to the hard disk inside my comcast DVR, and now I'm locked from making an archive copy?

Can someone help me wrap my head around all this garbage?
