I just bought an xbox 360 and it was quiet for about a month now all of a sudden its way louder than before does anyone know why this is happening?? Should I be worried??

My Manufacturers date is 8/30/07 its the new 360 premium with the HDMI port

My 360 is laying down and no I do not have an intercooler and no I don't leave it on if I am not using it. Please help I would appreciate it. Thanks.


Do you think its just dust and I should move it to another spot??

A tip. Make sure it is not laying down on carpet. If it is you need to put something like a VCR tape under it to prop it up off the floor. If not you are cutting off air flow and it will heat up more quickly.

as far as your noise, to know what it is and if it is common your going to have to describe what it sounds like because "quite then loud" just doesn't say much.

Yes ever since I had it I have layed it on the carpet. So would it be ok if I just put it on top of the box it came in?? I don't have any vcr tapes. Also I can describe the noise better once I get home to use it later on today from work. Thanks for your help. Any other tips are welcome.

the box is ok but i would use something smaller. Something that will raise it about 2 inches off of the carpet and can be centered under the machine. That is no bigger than a VCR tape.
