NTSC to PAL Problem

Hi

I have a game called Winning Eleven 10 J League, and the region is NTSC-J. Now, my TV can play both NTSC and PAL fine, but normally, the colors of NTSC games are very poor compared to PAL. So, I converted this game to PAL using the ntsctopal y fix. The colors are looking really good now, but the problem is that there are black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. Is there any way I can fix this?

Another thing is that the game becomes very slow after applying the patch. Is there any way around this too? Otherwise, I might have to stick with NTSC J version. If so, are there any display settings such as brightness that I can change to improve the picture?
