NME-360 V2 Xbox Live foolproof?

HI

I'm thinking of buying a 360 and stumbled accros the NME-360v2 chip.

Does this chip actualy allow you to play your backups on XboxLive?
And if so, wouldn't it, in time, be possible for MS to detect this (i've read about the whole banning thing, but that was with firmware flash right?)

I'm willing to make the investment, but i'm not up for playing for a while and getting banned afterwards...

Help me out will ya :p

well i just flashed my 360 with ixtreme and no proplems i havent seen anyone post a problem with it so im sure that ixtreme is safe

jus flash your drive it is just as good and cannot be detected on xbox live...
