OK, i read many tutes and they all mention this. Exactly how is this done..is there a pictorial tutorial? Because i've decided this is my last resort and lately all the media im burning with keeps DRE-ing. I've tried Maxell DVD+R and DVD-R (16x discs, burnt at 12x and 8x but still DRE) Btw, i can't order anything online so it had to be store bought.

I bought my cube from someone else who had it already modded. He also gave me some games for it(about a whole 50-pack) and only half of them worked, and i noticed that ONLY the Maxell DVD-R 8x discs work... because the pack of games had different branded discs. So i thought i'd try to do the same and find Maxell DVD-R 8x, BUT they're discontinued so i bought a 16x and burnt it at 8x and still no go. I've been trying with DVD+R at 12x(doubt 8x would work..unless, advised to..then i'll try it) as my first but still DRE.

I've read that its not really the burner, Media burning or DVD used...but in different order...lol confusing what i mean is many say that one of those is the problem..but i really hope it not the burner..all i know is that the burner i used was an LG?something?..btw, I don't have a burner this is my friends so i can't really just change it.

I'm really hoping its the POT..so could someone show me hows it done? I dont have a mutimeter..but is it ok if i turn the "screw" (i read a tid-bit of what someone said :P) w/o a digi-mutimeter? or is that TOO risky....

OOK a breakthrough..lol i feel like this is my cube log/diary lol

anyways, i found a guide that shows what this "Screw" looks like and i took apart my cube and found it and turned it a half-milimeter tot he left :P (counter-clockwise if you look at it with the words on the mobo right-side-up) :P oh well i put it back together and checked to see if my copy of Smash Melee works, but i guess i need to turn it more.... Anyone out there...come and stop me before i go too far....please....im lonely :P

EDIT:::::: OK MASSIVE AWESOME-NESS!!! i opened it up again and turned it a bit more an BAM! all my games work XD!!!! ok just so i didn't accidentally pot tweak it into the double-digits lol. i realized that my college's physic's department has a multimeter that im able to borrow so as soon as possible i plan to take my gc to school and check its pot...lol im bringing my gc to school. either way, IM REALLY HAPPY! Finally fixed my gc and now i even found a multimeter so its ALLL GOOOODDDDD MODS GO AHEAD AND CLOSE THREAD :P thx...to my self...lol

Nope this isn't your diary/log so let's stop the back to back/ bumping of posts (against the rules). Edit your previous post instead.

While your wait for an answer keep on searching - you just might find what you need :)
