Hi All,

I have been surfing around the net for weeks trying to find a good piece of software that will convert vob files from dvd discs that i have authored. I burn my dvd's using sonic reel dvd as a mp2 (720x576) and a separate wav file for audio. I want to know how to convert the vob files back to this format. All the tools i have found have converted it back to one mpg file with audio included, and at crappy quality to fit on a vcd. i want to keep the quality full.

If anyone can help pleeease respond.

Much appreciated,

Joel

So you want to make a VCD out of these Files and Keep the Original Quality???? Well you should know that This is Totally impossible because you will allways loose Quality going from DVD to VCD...And you Know you should NEVER use Wav audio when Authoring DVD"s Because Wav audio Takes Up Far too much Room on the DVD, you should be useing either Mpeg1 layer 2 audio or AC3 Dolby digital audio but Never wav audio...And I personaly do not Know of Any Tools that will De-Mux the Wav and M2V files to seperate audio and Video files but if you are going to Make a VCD out of the VOB file then it is totally simple Just Use a Mpeg encoder Like TMPGEnc or MainConcept encoder to encode the VOB file to VCD........Cheers

DVD-Lab can Demux a VOB for you if you import it as an asset, but Minion is right. You shouldn't need to do this first.

Ohh...If all you want to do is edit the VOB files then all you need is a Mpeg editor that supports mpeg streams with Wav audio...one good one that I use is Called "Mpeg2VCR", It will accept your VOB files and allow you to do Frame accurate editing and output back to a Mpeg2/Vob file with no change in the Video Quality because it does not do any Compression...If you PM me with your email address I can send you an old version of this editor that should do the Job for you ...cheers
