Constant or Variable ratio with DVD2one?

What's the diff between constant and variable ratio in dvd2one? Which one should I use. I've successfully burnt movies using both. Just curious.

Constant compresses the entire movie at a constant ratio - a quiet scene of two people talking gets as much compression as a building exploding (even though the latter i smore complex and requires more disk space to retain its fidelity).

Variable bitrate, on the other hand, does a quick scan of the movie before beginning, and then compresses the scene with two people talking more than the scene with the building blowing up. This mode is especially good for action flicks and longer movies.

On many movies you would never see a difference, but as the length increases and the amount of action scenes add up, it becomes increasigly important to ensure that more disk space is given to complex scenes.

Variable compression is also a MUST. It produces better quality than constant.

Only use constant for short movies etc but variable for lonf movies like The Two Towers etc.
