I have a couple of Xvid films that won't
convert through Tmpgenc, some of my Xvids will work and some wont. I can get through all the procedures but when it comes to the final convertion the program just freezes!
I have checked the properties of the Xvid's
that wont work and in the Summary part the only difference I can see is that the Audio on the ones that will work have Audio format as MPEG Layer-3, and the the ones that wont work dont seem to have any Audio format?

Can anyone help!!!

Load the problematic xvids into GSpot to find out what kind of audio stream they have.

After putting the troubled Xvid through G-Spot
I have found that the Audio Codec's are AC3.
Also it states that there are a number of compatible codecs installed ,the list is as follows.

AC3Filter
Moonlight Odio Dekoda
AC3 from AVI XForm
Cyberlink Audio Decoder

What should I do next?

Dom.

I have just downloaded another AC3 codec and everything seems fine now apart from when I watch my DVD's they seem to stutter slightly.
When TMPGEnc is converting I've noticed that when the seconds count down they seem to go in this formation i.e.

1:30,1:29,1:27,1:26,1:24 etc.

Could this be the reason why and if so do you know of any idea's to stop this happening.

Cheers.

Dom.

The seconds counting down like that is normal.

You really only need one AC3 codec. The AC3Filter works well with most people.

just go to OPTIONS -> ENVIRONMENTAL SETTINGS -> VFAPI PLUG-IN and raise DirectShow Multimedia File Reader priority to 2. It should work. Worked for me! No more unsupported files!

Life will always be a sentimental way, you can vivisect it all you want!!!
