PSX Backup Question - Sry If In Wrong Spot

I have a question on backing up a PSX game to play on PS2(couldn't find spot for PSX stuff). So my copy of Final Fantasy VII was scratched to hell, my friend let me borrow his and I ripped it and created an ISO with MagicISO. Now MagicIso says "Can't find file or file isn't CD image" whenever I try to open it in MagicISO to burn. Am I suppose to do something different with PSX (they don't have copyright protection on them do they?). Any help would be appreciated.

By the way I use MagicSwap on my PS2.
