I've burned 7 backups for 360 so far using Ridata 2.4x DVD+R DL
They all work perfectly fine...
My entire psx and ps2 collection were all burned to Ridata as well, again 100% perfect
Why am I reading everywhere that Verbatim is the only way to go, when clearly I use Ridata and they work great?
Also, if for whatever reason Verbatim is the better choice, is it possible to rip my already burned copy from the Ridata, and reburn it to a Verbatim disc to improve the quality of the copy? Or would I have to reburn the original downloaded iso directly to the Verbat
i def used about 100 dvd+r dl from memorex, which ritek makes. My experience with them have been great. Only a few bad discs, but that is because my computer messed them up. I defintely think they are great for the price you can get them compare to verbs(on sale $1, whereas verbs are $2). Anyone else?
its just verbatim are the most reliable in general. if ur not sure wat to will work with ur burner, theres a good chance that verbatim discs will. for example, i got memorex discs but they didnt work with my burner, nothing is wrong with them, its just they dont work with the burner i have. verbatim discs have a higher chance on working different burners and player then other brands do. one is not necessarily better then the other

On sale Verb.'s are ~$1.40 -$1.50, not $2.
Using cheap media will cost you twice as much as using Verbatims. What I mean is you want to save $.50 on a disc and only spend a buck. But you'll just be throwing that $1.00 away plus spending another $1.50 to reburn that disc later. And of course don't forget the cost of replacing the laser. There's another $30~$50 if you do it yourself. More if someone has to do it for you.
well, at the rate im going, i burnt over 100 discs and had under 5 coasters which were my computer's fault. So really im not buying another disc cause of bad media. I understand about the laser issue with my drive(pioneer dvr-111d), but it's still going strong and until it goes, i plan on sticking with the same media. How many burns do you think it would actually take to kill my laser? I just thought a 100 was a lot.
If your laser is running tip top and you have a good burner many different brands will work will work. If your laser is having any issues at all it's highly likely only Verbatims will work. I'm flashed around hundred 360s and have seen this 1st hand many times. It's hard to say if using non Verbatims will kill you laser quicker and at what rate since people have only been burning 360 games for about 18 months now.
