HELP!! How do I use SwapMagic 3.8 to run a divx movie with USB HDD?

Hello!

My goal is to run DIVx movies through an external USB HDD. Is it possible to use my original Swap Magic 3.8 Coder to do it through SMS Media Player? Here is my list of stuff:

PS2 Slim (SCPH-77004)
Original Swap Magic 3.8 Coder discs
Maxdrive PS2 USB Flash drive
USB HDD (which I will buy at some point)

I usually watch my movies the old way: burn a DVD/CD, run SwapMagic to start SMS Media Player through the USB flash drive and run the movie on the disc. But I know that will wear off the laser lens and I watch A LOT of movies. Besides, it sucks to burn DVDs and CDs each time you wanna watch a flick. Then the subtitles aren't working and I burn a new one... So I want to run it with an external HDD.

Questions:

1. Is it possible to run SMS Media Player ELF file through the USB Flash drive connected on USB port 1 and use it to watch DIVx files through a USB HDD connected on USB port 2? Does the PS2 recognize the HDD drive?

Or is this not even possible nowadays? Please help me out here.

2. Any ideas on a decent USB HDD brand or model? I don't need much, 120-160Gb is enough, since I will use it just for backup PC data and Watch divx movies on the PS2.

Please help me out here!
