Hello,

I want to take WMV files, put it on a DVD-R, and watch it on my DVD player. I did a search on the topic or similar topics, but didn't understand it or wasn't for me. Can anybody recommend me programs to use and a guide on how to do it? Thanks in advance.

Most WMV files when encoded to Standard DVD Specs will not even be watchable on a DVD Player decause Most WMV files are of Low Resolution and Quality and use Non-DVD compliant Resolutions and Frame rates so unless you are very experienced with Encodeing and DVD authoring and Many other aspects of Digital video then this might be a project you might just want to leave alone...I have personally Backed up 6 hours of Porn in WMV Format onto a Single DVD-R in SIF Format and it was watchable but I have been working with Video for quite a few years and am a profecinal video editor for a Liveing...The way you would go about it would depend on your WMV files but there are no guides that I know of that will walk you through it, Probably because most poeple know that for the most Part it is Just not worth it to Convert WMV files to DVD....Well I can give you a Basic Run through of how I did it but it would take Far to long to explain every step especially if after I explain everything you decide it is too difficult and not to do it...Well My WMV Files were 30fps and 320+240 and I had about 100 of them, so what I did was used a Good Video editor Like "Vegas Video 4" and Put all of the Files on the Timeline in the order I wanted and added transitions and effects(You don"t need to do this stuff) and after I got my prokect set up I rendered the Project as a "352+240" HuffyUV AVI file at 29.97fps, with Wav audio at 48000hz, then I encoded the 352+240 AVI file to Mpeg2 at 352+240 and encoded the Audio to AC3 audio, Then I authored the Mpeg2 and AC3 file to DVD with DVD-Lab but useing the SIF DVD standard in the Project settings and that was It I was able to get over 6 hours of WMV Porn onto a Single DVD-R with OK Quality.....Cheers
