Help finding DVDROM In Brisbane QLD

Hi everyone,

I have been searching around trying to find one of the DVDROM Drives so i can backup our Nintendo Wii games but i am having trouble. I was hoping to buy one straight away so i could start using it rather than purchasing off ebay and waiting for the delivery. I am currently living in South Brisbane and was hoping that someone would know where i could walk in and buy one of the 8164b 8163b 8162b 8161b 8160b Drives as suggested on this forum. Also are these currently thre only drives that will work? Thank you for all your help.

They are getting harder to find... I have a WiiKey and that has backup software using the GC port. You have to get a port adapter card to use an SD card, about $10US. Then plug that into the GC port, using your SD card ($15 gets you a 2 gig card, so you'll swap a couple times) and that is it.

Consider that if you can't find the old DVD ROM drives (which now are going for $40-$50 in the US).

This of course assumes you are using a WiiKey.

Hi mate i am from Melbourne. I was blessed with my 5 year old computer came with the drive. I think your best bet may be to go to a swap meet or just ring around different computer shops in the area.

Hope you can find one!

Thanks for your help guys. Yep i think i'll be on the phone today ringing around and then off to swapmeet on the weekend.
Thanks for the alternative suggestion robgrm i may need to give that ago. Yes i do have the wiikey installed.
