transfering HD from dead xbox to new xbox

My xbox, which had a 250gig HD, died. I have a copy of the eeprom from it and used it to build the linux bootCD using xboxhd. I successfully unlocked the drive from my old xbox. I then took the new eeprom from the replacement xbox and built another linux bootCD. However after I lock it, and put it in the new xbox, it wont bootup. I get error code 6. All signs show that the HD is locked. I even went to the backup folder on the 2nd xbox, deleted the eeprom.bin file and then ran the backup command in EvoX dash, took (via FTP) the newly created eeeprom.bin file and re-created another Linux bootCD, but I get the same results :(

Am I missing something?

Use 'LiveInfo' to check the serial number off the eeprom, it needs to match the one on the sticker underneath the console!

when I load the eeprom into LiveInfo it shows all 0's

what is the current version of Liveinfo?

I tried the LiveInfo 3, no luck. Still shows serial number as all zeros. I am totally lost on this. Been without my xbox now for almost a month. Can someone please help me. I had no problems modding my xbox, and no problems upgrading a stock drive to a larger drive. But moving a drive from one xbox to another is killing me. Even if you just point me to links, any help would be appreciated.

-why am i getting all zeros?
-how come using the eeprom to lock that drive doesn work?

Try a different eeprom extraction utility!

Maybe the one in your dash is corrupt!

Run from Slayers or AID... or even the softmod screen!
