heyy, i downloaded the game few days ago, i compressed it into a CSO file, well from ISO to CSO.
i tried to play the game but it lags REALLY bad that it wont even show the beginning or the start screen at all. Just after the logos like square enix, it lags.
is there anyway to make it not laggy?
ive tried changing the CPU speed to 333 and still no difference! i really want to play the game? someone help me>?

update to 3.52 m33-4 or 3.71 m33-2. people running 3.40 OE-A have problems running crisis core.

your cso may be compressed too much. use a lower compress level.

my crisis core runs fine. using iso speed at 300, and compressed into cso with umdgen 4.0. has no lag issues on my fat psp with 3.52 m33-4 or psp slim with 3.71 m33-2.

ALL firmware can be downgraded with pandora's battery and magic memory stick. it will put all FAT psp to 1.50.

the psp slim will uses a modified magic memory stick to get custom firmware. psp slim cannot go to 1.50.

if you're on 1.5 already, then you just have to update to m33 firmware. go HERE for instructions.

as for umdgen. the level compression will appear once you choose to save the game as cso. start at level 9. then if the cso game lags, save it at a lower level.

yes, m33 firmware is custom firmware, just like OE firmware. m33 firmware is a more updated firmware of OE, because both were created by Dark_AleX.

m33 firmware has more game compatability, uses the official sony iso loader, and has a built in umd ripper.

just use the guide i posted earlier. it's very straightforward, and it's written for people on 1.50 firmware already.

the link you posted is for people who want to downgrade to 1.50 and install custom firmware. it only has instructions on how to get to 1.50.

no. downgrading back to 1.50 would be a big step back from custom firmware. the only reason to downgrade to 1.50 is to install custom firmware, or to reinstall custom firmware due to a bad custom firmware flash.

custom firmware can do what 1.50 does, but keeps up with the latest firmware so that new games can be played.

3.71 m33-2 is the latest custom firmware, but is optional to upgrade to. but in order to upgrade to 3.71 m33-2, you need 3.52 m33-4; the updater will check if the psp has the firmware first.

OOOH...so..by custom firmware-ing 3.52 m33-4, with firmware 1.50, itll be version 2.52 m33-4 with the same capabilities as 1.50? so itll be able to play any game such as ps1 games and any other games?

yep. custom firmware keeps the 1.50 kernel and uses the latest firmware, but in this case the 3.52 kernel. this only applies to the original fat psp's. you can switch between the two kernels in the recovery menu.

the new psp slim cannot accept the 1.50 kernel, but it still can use custom firmware.

your settings aren't set correctly. it's choosing to run games from the umd.

in the xmb menu, press home. it brings up the vsh menu. change the umd iso mode to sony np9660. exit and try the game again
