Alright i'll put some back story to my current problem. I had my psp modded in manila at some mall. What i saw was that he stuck in memory sticks that downgraded and then upgraded my psp. I don't know what my psp starting specs were but it ended up being 3.01 OE-A when he was finished.

It was great i had some games and movies in it and it was working fine. When i flew back home my bro and I tried downloading some games and i was able to put DBZ, Guilty Gear, FFT, among other games and it was working beautifully.

Later on i youtubed some vids of people playing old playstation games on their psp and i wanted to try it out. I downloaded legend of dragoon but it didnt seem to work. I researched a bit and found out that i needed 3.10 OE-B to run those kind of games. After finding the first forum thread that had what i was looking for, i downloaded a file that upgraded OE-A to OE-B so i was really excited. It said to place the folder into the GAME150 folder and so i did. Right when i tried using it thats when all my problems started.

My psp would start but the screen would stay black then eventually turn itself off. I researched and discovered that i could enter the recovery screen by hold the R trigger. I tried it and after a minute or so of leaving it on it went to a blue screen which had the options

Toggle USB
Configuration ->
Run program at /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP
Advanced ->
CPU Speed ->
Plugins ->
Registry hacks ->
Exit

I came across this site and found a thread that had a person who had the same problem as me http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/495922

I also tried the 1.50 recovery winstaller as he did but instead for me it just stayed black. When i tried to enter the recovery menu and use the Run program at /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP it just went black again.

If anyone can help it would be most welcomed.

thnx Rogdrik, the recovery pack worked beautifully ... but theres still a problem. My psp will start now and i was able to input the initial information, but every time i push a direction or press a button the screen will black out for about a minute, then come back on. And will continue to do so only when i push that button or direction. Please tell me i can fix this as well.

I really appreciate the responses and the help. I lost all hope but now i can see a small glimmer of light heh.

might be hardware issues

but before we jump to that

try reflashing it again (running the recovery folder again)
