I recently purchased a new TV, and was looking to connect my PS2 via component. Upon receiving the cable, I found that I was able to get audio, but no video signal. First thought was to ensure that the correct setting was selected on my PS2, which it is (Y/pb/pr rather than RGB), and that it's connected correctly to the tv (checked). Perhaps the cable is faulty, but my assumption would be that if audio works, so does video (will confirm on a mate's console).

It's worth pointing out that my PS2 is modified with a Messiah clone. Jumping on google, I found a couple of users having similar issues (see AV Forums and NTSC UK Forums), and consensus was that it was perhaps the mod that was causing the issue, particularly the RGB fix.

My Questions are:
1: Are there users who've had similar issues on this board, if so what was the outcome?
2: More information on the "RBG Fix" of this, and older, PS2 mod. Why was it required, i.e. what did it "fix"?
3: Whether reversing the RBG Fix will solve my issue and result in video being successfully transmitted via. component, and if it will affect DVD playback of any kind, or playback of backup games?
4: Any other suggestions users might have?
